mike sent me a link to a site this morning that I am now addicted to.
http://ffffound.com
It is a collection of cool stuff found on flickr, it’s like going to the ICA…without moving.
Click a few pictures follow the related images, it’s really cool.

never tell me the odds
November 8th, 2008 1 Comment
I just spent literally days of my life applying for NSF. Every weekend for the last month and a half has been devoted to fellowships…yet they only gave out 45 fellowships to physics students last year. “never tell me the odds”
Also I just saw an ad for an amazing shirt that says “Yes we did.” [...]

Thankfully I do not have to rush to get things done before I go off to the South Pole, but unfortunately it still seems like I am scrambling to finish all these fellowships. In fact, all I did this weekend was to write essays…and now during my time off I am writing a blog post. [...]

Busy
October 5th, 2008 No Comments
I’ve been pretty…busy…recently preparing applications for various fellowships, and it looks like it will just get worse before it gets better. So I apologize to anybody who has been looking for me to post something to prove that I am indeed alive and well.
I’m afraid I don’t have much to speak about that is very [...]

The Gathering Storm

First off, that is the most awesome title for a government report ever. Secondly, read this:

My favorite part is when he points out how few scientists and engineers are in leadership positions in the US.

The end of a book
September 12th, 2008 No Comments
I’ve been reading Cryptonomicon for a little over 4 years…that is until 20 minutes ago when I finished it. It’s weird to say but my viewpoint of the book, and the topics it raises, changed so much after having gone to MIT. (Remember, by “gone to MIT” I am referring to 4 years of my [...]

For those of you in the science “know” you might have heard recently about the mysterious results vortex surrounding PAMELA and what it might mean for a major breakthrough in the study of Dark Matter…more specifically a possibly first glimpse at real super symmetry! Or as I like to call it: “Holy crap, we need [...]

New [Queen] Sized Bed…

I decided that that old bed just had to go…I haven’t quite put it into an alley behind my apt, but it’s on its way out.
Here I am in Ithaca, the city of gorges. I’m mostly moved in and tomorrow I’ll go and fill out the mounds of paperwork that I was just informed are [...]

If there is one link you follow on this blog, it should be this one:
Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog
Also please give it a chance…watch at least through the first song, if you don’t like it after the first song then you can navigate away. It got removed for a few weeks, so I don’t know how [...]

Back in the US…Back in the US…Back in the USA

It’s good to be home.
I’m all for multiculturalism and experiencing new and different ways of living, but I got to be honest I like America. I never really thought too much about it before…In fact, if you’d have asked me before if I was truly happy with my life in America I probably would have [...]
