As many of you probably know, Steve Chu has been chosed to be the next United States Secretary of Energy. This is crazy awesome for many reasons. First, Steve Chu is incredibly smart. He is a physicist and won a Nobel for his work that centered around laser cooling and trapping of atoms. Second, he gave up on atomic physics  to take the helm at Lawrence Berkley National Lab, which he is currently turning into the Bell-Labs that solves all the world’s energy problems.

The next time you think of walking out of a room without swithing off a light bulb or leaving your house with the air conditioning turned all the way up, think to yourself, “What would Steve do?”
