So letters were placed in our mail boxes at 5 PM yesterday announcing if we had passed or failed the qual. Luckily I got one of the former letters, so now I can move on and worry about more important things like where to acquire house plants for my office. My office…I don’t know if I announced this or not, but I have moved in with the DeMarco group, which is awesome.
I started reading Kafka on the Shore by Haruki Murakami two nights ago when I was having trouble sleeping. His writing has been described as “dream like,” and I am enjoying it very much so far. I wish I had known of him in 2005 when he gave a lecture at MIT. Anyway, life is good and I think I am going to find a mattress today.
